General & Women's Health Physiotherapy in Manchester

Our fantastic new gym space at the Bridgewater Hospital
Physiotherapy covers any injury or pain in the body, involving muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, bones and nerves. No matter whether it started from a sports injury, lifting at work or you woke up with neck or back pain, physiotherapy can more often than not help. If you get pain in your knee playing football for England or have a sore neck sitting at work, physiotherapy can help.

Women's Health Physiotherapy
At mlh we also offer a Women's Health Physiotherapy service for pregnant women and new mums. Many women exprience aches & pains before and after childbirth, but don't think anything can be done about it. Clare Warwick, our specialist Women's Physiotherapist can help with treatment of pelvic pain in pregnancy, back pain including sciatica, thoracic pain, rib pain and hip pain. Treatment of the pelvic floor is also important, and retraining of these muscles can help with pelvic floor dysfunction and bladder problems.

1 to 1 Pilates
At mlh we are able offer 1 to 1 pilates sessions. This is provided by one of our Physiotherapists, who is an APPI Qualified Instructor. APPI is the leading European institution in training Physiotherapists in Pilates Instruction. Pilates is a physical fitness system developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates in Germany. Pilates called his method Contrology because he believed his method uses the mind to control the muscles. The program focuses on the core postural muscles which help keep the body balanced and which are essential to providing support for the spine. In particular, pilates exercises teach awareness of breath and alignment of the spine, and aim to strengthen the deep torso muscles.

Massage Therapy
Massage is the manipulation of superficial and deep layers of muscle and connective tissue to enhance function, aid healing and promote relaxation and wellbeing.
