Conditions and patient referrals
  • pelvic pain in pregnancy (this includes buttock pain, sacro-iliac and pubic symphysis pain)
  • back pain in pregnancy (including sciatica)
  • thoracic pain in pregnancy
  • rib pain in pregnancy
  • hip pain
All the above conditions can be referred early in pregnancy and up to 8 weeks post- natally. We will also accept referrals ante and post-natally for pelvic floor dysfunction/bladder problems such as:-
  • stress incontinence
  • frequency, urgency and urge incontinence
  • pelvic floor dysfunction e.g. poor pelvic floor contraction, symptoms of a prolapsed or pain
We would like to triage women who have had a traumatic delivery:-
  • forceps delivery
  • ventouse delivery
  • 3rd or 4th degree tears
to give them the opportunity to be reviewed for pelvic floor assessment post-natally.
