mlh Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic have an exciting new role working in both private practice & elite sport, in a joint role between ourselves & Brooklands MUHC.
mlh Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic are looking for an experienced, friendly & proactive MSK Physiotherapist to join our team on a self-employed basis. This post will be based at our Sale practice in Manchester & also with Brooklands MUHC Mens 1st Team on matchdays.
The role will require the successful applicant to provide 2 evening MSK out-patient clinics, preferably Tuesday & Thursday, at our Sale clinic. In addition to this, provide matchday physiotherapy support to Brooklands MUHC Mens 1st Team, with games on Saturdays or Sundays (fixtures for the coming season are available).
You will work closely with & be supported by Clinical Directors in clinic, providing treatment to a mixture of Brooklands players, medico-legal, private medical insurance & self-paying patients. You should be able to communicate effectively & demonstrate excellent clinical reasoning skills. The successful candidate will establish their own out-patient caseload & as the business develops, we hope to be able to offer an ever-increasing caseload; with potential to increase clinical hours.
The role will include significant work with Brooklands MUHC Performance Squad. It is essential the successful candidate communicates & liaises with the Coaching Director, and S&C Coach, regarding injury/playing status during the week to aid team selection for matchdays, for Brooklands players. There will also be opportunity to help with physical screening & collecting injury data alongside S&C Coach throughout the season.
Matchday duties with Brooklands MUHC Mens 1st Team will include pre-match treatment, leading player warm-up, bench/injury management and hydration of players. The 1st Team play in the England Hockey League Premier Division, so there is the possibility of some overnight stays throughout the season.
We actively encourage CPD, and regularly attend sessions provided by Orthopeadic colleagues. We will support your desire to attend any appropriate CPD courses.
Established for over 7 years, mlh Physiotherapy has an ever-increasing caseload. The successful candidate will be part of the mlh team that develops in the future. We firmly believe that our success will continue by adding individuals who are willing to work hard for our patients & company.
Knowledge & Experience:
o Qualification as a Chartered Physiotherapist & HPC registration
o Minimum 2 years qualified
o Experience working in MDTs; preferably in private practice and sport
o Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
o Excellent clinical triage skills
o Computer literacy, including MS Office & medical databases
o Full driving license
o 5yrs Post Grad experience
" Minimum two years experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy
" Experience in Elite sport
o MSc in Manual therapy (MACP) or sports related equivalent
o Experience providing injury prevention or rehabilitation strategies
